Friday 22 May 2015
The York St John Dance Club Class of 2015 has worked tirelessly over the past year ready for our summer show at Joseph Rowntree Theatre, and we know you’ll enjoy watching our performance as much as we’ve enjoyed making it!
With a huge range of different dance styles, from beautiful contemporary dance to street dance and commercial (think Beyoncé videos), from jazz and ballet choreography set to music from Disney’s Hercules and Peter Pan, to tap dancing set to R’n’B classic Hit the Road Jack, there’s plenty here to entertain everyone. Plus, we have surprise performances from special guests as well as competition-standard dances from the Dance Club’s very own competition squad.
Come and support us, because we’ve certainly put in a ton of effort this year to make this one of our best shows ever! And with proceeds going towards Help for Heroes, you’ll also be helping a worthy cause!

Honk! is a musical comedy re-telling the Hans Christian Anderson story of The Ugly Ducking. This version, by George Styles and Anthony Drewe, incorporates the very modern message of tolerance which is so much in the news at the present time. With its wonderful score and storyline, it won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical in 2000. The Daily Telegraph announced it as 'An exuberant smash hit' while Time Out described it as 'stonkingly brilliant'. We think it's an EGG-cellent show for all the family!
