Robin Hood and the Revolting Peasants
Oddsocks make a welcome return to their favourite venue in York
Saturday 12 January 2019
Audiences are in for a treat as Oddsocks bring their trademark humour, fast paced action and live action to the legend that is Robin Hood.
Join Robin, Little John, Maid Marion and, of course, Friar Tuck as they take on some of their hardest challenges to date: a conniving king, a sinister sheriff and a downtrodden village of peasants whose "get up and go" has got up and gone.
Can the merry band teach the baddies a lesson? The villagers to revolt? The world to sing?
Find out when Oddsocks rumble in with their rumbustious new adventures of this legendary folk hero in a show for all the family.
Family ticket available. Buy 2 adult and 2 child tickets for £48.

York Residents' Festival
Welcome one, welcome all!
Joseph Rowntree Theatre
Saturday 26 January to Sunday 27 January 2019
We are a friendly lot at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, so much so that we don’t just welcome people with York Cards during the Residents’ Festival, we welcome anyone who wants to see what our lovely Art Deco theatre is like and find out about how it works and its history.
Not only that, on the Sunday you can watch rehearsals for Kiss Me, Kate which is being staged in February, and on the Saturday hear singing from choirs appearing at our York Community Choir Festival in March.
We are open both days from 10.30am until 4.00 pm. No need to book, just turn up on the day.
2019 York Chinese Spring Festival Gala
Celebrate Lunar New Year Together
University of York Chinese Society
Friday 1 February 2019
Come and join us to celebrate the Lunar New Year together!!
In the tradition of mainland China, everyone would watch the New Year Gala with their family on New Year Eve. As people are studying or working in the UK and not able to fly back home, the Chinese Society is holding a New Year Gala to let you feel like being home! We wish the show could reduce a bit of your homesickness.
Happy New Year.
