Can virtual reality replace live entertainment?

Theatres and concert venues have been dark for five months now, and while socially distanced indoor performances are due to restart in August, the coronavirus lockdown leaves the future of the arts uncertain. However, the National Theatre are talking up virtual reality as a way of plugging the gap left by live performance. 

BBC News released the story via their Facebook page, exploring this possibility.
