Yorkshire's Got Talent

Price: Free

Hannah Wakelam, a nineteen year old York musical theatre performer, has launched a competition to find the very best of local talent.  Hannah, who has appeared many times on the Joseph Rowntree Theatre stage, is running the event to help the theatre’s recently launched Raise the Roof campaign.  The theatre needs to find £90,000 to go towards roof repairs to ensure that it will be around for future generations of Yorkshire performers. Entries are open from now until the 8th August, the prize money is £100 and the winner will be decided by a panel of three star judges.

HOW DO I ENTER?

Send your video to Hannah via Facebook private message (videos must be a maximum of 1 minute)

Add your name, age, town and a couple of lines about yourself.

Make a donation to the YORKSHIRE'S GOT TALENT Just Giving page (minimum £5) and please leave a message with your name. This is IMPORTANT.

Share the YORKSHIRE'S GOT TALENT Facebook group AND Instagram page and ask all your friends and family to vote for you by liking your video. (Votes will not be combined off both platforms).

The top 10 videos with the most likes from either platform will be announced on 08/08/2020 (THIS IS THE DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES)

Family and friends must be part of the group to vote.

The top 10 acts will perform on stage at Joseph Rowntree Theatre when the theatre can reopen.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 8TH AUGUST

The 10 videos with the most amount of votes (likes) will be entered into the final on 08/08/2020.

Each week, the finalists will be given a theme which they then will have to base their talent around.

Friends and Family will vote and the two with the lowest amount of votes each week will have a chacne to be saved by one of our judges.

THE DETAILS

All types of performers are encouraged to enter and to show off what they can do, whether it’s singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, performing a circus act, the list is endless. The cost of entries is a minimum donation of £5 to the theatre’s Raise the Roof appeal and there are no age restrictions. Because of current lockdown rules, entrants will be asked to submit a short video of themselves performing their acts.

The winner of the contest will win £100 and their online performances will be seen right across the Yorkshire area. Full rules and details on how to enter can be found on their Facebook and Instragram pages.
