We need to raise £95,000 to repair our roof.

We are over halfway there with £50,000 already received from many generous donors.

Built in 1935, we still have the original roof. Although it has served us well, it is now in dire need of repair.

Because of the unique construction of the main roof and our theatre's Grade II listed status, we can't just strip it and replace it with modern tiles - it's a big job.

Repairing our roof will be the first step on the road to making our major theatre improvements, part of our exciting plan to expand the theatre. We must start at the top - with the roof - to make sure the existing building is sound as we realise our ambition to turn our theatre into a vibrant community hub - a space that can be enjoyed by everyone.

  • The Joseph Rowntree Theatre already has a special place in the hearts of many people - it is, after all, a totally unique facility. You can support us by donating to our Raise the Roof Appeal.
