raise the roOF

Like so many arts venues at this time, we face an uncertain future. But we are determined to remain positive. We have launched a fundraising appeal, Raise the Roof, to help secure the future of our theatre so we can continue to operate and expand as an important community asset for York.

This year our theatre is celebrating its 85th birthday. We have stood the test of time and are the only remaining Rowntree building still used for its original purpose. Now we need to raise £90,000 to make sure that our lovely art deco building remains fit for use over the next 85 years.

The money will be used to go toward the costs incurred to shore up our roof, which is in desperate need of repair.

We need to make sure that the fabric of our theatre is safe, starting with our roof. The new insulation and solar panels will significantly reduce our operating costs and also the impact we have on the environment. The repairs will help make us more sustainable for future generations.
