We have big plans for the future of our theatre, evolving it into a vibrant community hub. Performing arts remain at the heart but we passionately believe that by opening up the theatre, more people from York will be excited and inspired. 

To build the community hub, we are embarking on a major capital project to raise money to fund our theatre expansion.

There are a number of ways in which you can support us.

    Help us raise funds towards the new 'Garden Room', a much-needed social space for pre-performance comfort.

    The Joseph Rowntree Theatre has 365 seats and its intimate size and friendly feel is loved by audiences and performers alike you can support the theatre by sponsoring a seat for 5 years.

    If you are a UK taxpayer, for every £1 you donate to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, we can claim an additional 25p from HM Revenue and Customs.
