Musical theatre fans and G&S aficionados alike, a performance of beautiful music set to a hilarious storyline awaits you! Welcome to a world where Princess Ida has forsworn men and started a women-only university at Castle Adamant. Prince Hilarion, married to Ida at birth, is determined to be reunited with her. When he and two friends infiltrate the castle disguised as women, a whirlwind of mischief, ruses and conflict ensues. Playing on the themes of gender and patriarchy, the 1920s setting of this topsy-turvy battle of the sexes is accompanied by live orchestra, showcasing sublime music that is considered amongst Sullivan's best.
This production is participating in the JoRo Awards 2024.
