The happy couple, Aline and Alexis, decide everyone in the town should share their loving bliss. Alexis believes that love should transcend wealth and social distinction, so they visit the local sorcerer. He brews them a love-potion to hide in the villagers' tea, causing the villagers to become infatuated with the first person they set their eyes upon. Chaos and ridiculously mismatched couples ensue in this hilarious and widely-adored operetta.
