After their popular production of Iolanthe last February, The University of York Gilbert and Sullivan Society proudly presents a classic production of The Yeomen of the Guard!
One of Gilbert and Sullivan’s lesser performed shows, this production is set back in the 16th century, in the historic Tower of London, during the reign of Henry VIII, a tumultuous, bloody, and painful period in history.
Tackling themes of unrequited love, alienation, and tragedy, this darkly comic show has both a heartbreaking narrative and one of the finest scores to come out of this composing duo.
