Heart for the Arts Update

Heart for the Arts Update

posted 26 Apr 2024

The mission continues!

The Joseph Rowntree Theatre remains committed to supporting community engagement through affordable performing arts, entertainment, and events.

The Heart of the Arts campaign is now well underway, raising funds to provide a much-needed meeting place and waiting area to relax in before performances, as well as the inclusion of an in-house bar and additional toilets in a new ‘Garden Room’.

Since the campaign launched, community events such as bowling, a pie night and a Christmas raffle have all taken place. Alongside donations from our loyal supporters, the amount raised is now at £17,625.10, which leaves us just £12,374.90 away from the total goal of £30,000.

By donating today or attending a fundraising event, your support can help us achieve our total. Upcoming fundraising events include:

  • 5 May, 10.30am - 1.30pm

The Teddy Bear Zip Wire Challenge – at the theatre

  • 17 May, 10am - 4pm

Cafe and Table Top Sale – St Crux, The Shambles
