Theatre Safety Measures
We continue to make sure everyone is as safe as possible visiting our theatre by managing audience arrival through two separate entrances and monitoring the air quality in our auditorium.
Face Coverings
We recommend that everyone aged 12 and over attending the Joseph Rowntree Theatre wears a face-covering whilst inside the theatre, unless exempt.
No longer able to attend
If you are no longer able to attend an event you can request a refund credit to your box office account which can be used to book tickets for a future show as the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
We are See It Safely approved, so you can feel confident and safe knowing that we are following the latest government and performing arts guidelines.
If you have any of the following symptoms please do not attend the theatre and contact the box office on 01904 501935 to arrange a refund of your tickets.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
* a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
* a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
* a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If any of your party cannot attend due to a positive test result please contact the box office on 01904 501935 to arrange a refund of your tickets.
In addition, please do not come to the theatre if you are unwell with any of the following:
* Runny Nose
* Headache along with other symptoms
* Sneezing
* Sore Throat
If you need to collect your tickets from the box office before the show please arrive a little earlier or alternatively call in the theatre in advance of the show Monday to Saturday 10 am to 2 pm.
If you have e-tickets you can print them at home or show them on your mobile phone when you arrive.

Entry to the theatre will be by a side door if you are sitting downstairs or via the front doors if you have balcony tickets.
A one-way system will be in place when arriving at the theatre. Ticket holders sitting downstairs are to use the side door and balcony ticket holders to use the front door.
Please arrive in good time so we can get you seated before the performance starts. Doors open 30 minutes before the performance start time.
If you have any symptoms of coronavirus or a high temperature on the day of the show please do not attend and contact us to arrange a refund for your tickets. Please contact the box office team as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after the performance.
