Have you heard about Scenesaver?
Scenesaver is a free to use website, launched during lockdown, to do something positive to help the theatre world; to support and incentivise creatives, to make theatre accessible to all and to provide theatregoers with their fix of theatre during the pandemic. A hub showing performances from small theatres worldwide, users pay a virtual ticket price that is given to the performers.
For Halloween, there is a Fright Night! Special, with scary shows for both children and adults.
On Remembrance Day, they will be showing work on war related theme, and for Christmas, there will be plenty of feel good festive performances, including The Moomins Show, so that families missing panto and theatre can watch together either physically or remotely.
They are also running a Captioning Awareness Week in November, when people who love theatre, but sometimes find it hard to hear the words, can enjoy the performances with subtitles.
There are 250+ performances and all creatives in all genres and languages are encouraged to get in touch. If the theatre has any footage of the performance, Scenesaver want to know about it and put it out to a larger audience; to keep the theatre world in the homes of its community during these difficult times.
You can find more details on the Scenesaver website, and also follow them on Twitter for all the latest updates.
