The Joseph Rowntree Theatre launches virtual bucket-shaking fundraiser via Theatres Trust Crowdfunder appeal

The Joseph Rowntree Theatre is taking part in a national initiative launched by the Theatres Trust to help it raise funds via a virtual bucket shake this festive season.

Donations will help to replace the huge amount of income lost as a result of the pandemic. The theatre is asking supporters to help it to make sure that it can welcome visiting performers and audiences to a wide variety of top-quality shows by making a donation to a virtual bucket and then claiming one of the many varied rewards on the Crowdfunder page.

Dan Shrimpton, Chair of Trustees of the Joseph Rowntree Theatre says, “We are facing an enormous loss of income from ticket sales, merchandise and ice creams, as well as missing out on the opportunity for a traditional bucket collection. This is why we’d like to invite you to take part in a virtual bucket collection this panto season.”

The virtual bucket shake has been launched by the Joseph Rowntree Theatre this week, just in advance of the reopening of the venue this coming weekend. Supporters can access the Crowdfunder Page (https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/virtual-bucket-shake-for-joseph-rowntree-theatre). Rewards on offer include teddy bears, theatre tote bags and greetings cards and prints of the theatre.  You can also be a theatre elf or a theatre angel for only a small donation, with donors being acknowledged on the theatre’s website.

Thank you to our 'Bucket Angels' for their support
