Front of House Stewards

Our stewards play a vital role in allowing performances to go ahead by ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of audience members.

As a steward you will meet, greet, and assist patrons of the theatre, showing them to their seats, selling programmes and occasionally sweets. You will also play an important role in ensuring the safety of theatre goers during the evacuation process in the unlikely event of an emergency.

In return you will get to watch the diverse performances put on by our hirers, which include plays, musicals, dance shows, concerts, and our annual pantomime, for free.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and you need no experience, just to be friendly and enjoy working with people. Full training will be given.

The time commitment is flexible, and depends on the number of performances happening, but one or two evenings and/or a Saturday afternoon a month would be a typical commitment, between approximately 6.30pm and 10.15pm (1.30pm to 5.15pm for matinées).
