Thank you for fundraising
Residents of Hartrigg Oaks, a continuing care retirement community in New Earswick, set out to mark the centenary of Joseph Rowntree’s passing.
Taking the idea of one of our volunteers (and Hartigg Oaks resident) Sheila Heckels, their aim was simple: celebrate community through food and stories. The result is the New Earswick Community Cookbook, a 134-page collection of more than 100 recipes contributed by residents, families and friends across the village.
The recipe book raised £4,350 in total and has been shared equally with the Joseph Rowntree Theatre and New Earswick Swimming Pool, who each received £2,175.
