Opening night nerves were quickly overcome by both performers and audiences when we reopened our doors last weekend. We are excited to see live shows back on our stage again. We want visits to our theatre to be a safe and socially distanced as well as an enjoyable experience, so we’ve put in place comprehensive Covid-safe measures for our returning audiences.
One theatre goer said:
“It felt very strange actually attending an event in a theatre after so long away. The precautions taken made me feel very safe… none of it made the experience difficult or uncomfortable - everything ran smoothly.”
Another commented:
“The first show after lockdown at JRT was, as usual excellent… I was very impressed by the safety precautions the theatre had put in place.”

“On the way to our visit to the Joseph Rowntree theatre, we saw a beautiful rainbow. Was that a foretaste of what our evening was going to be?... We felt very safe… Thank you to the staff and especially the board for all their hard work in getting the theatre ready for re-opening.”
Check out what shows we have coming up next...
