Last week, we revealed the York-based community group, the Supper Collective, had been nominated for the Community Project Award, as part of the Telegraphs Lockdown Awards.

You can read the full article about the Supper Collective here.

The Telegraph recieved more than 1,500 nominations for their Lockdown Awards across 11 categories.

From bakers and makers to teachers, singers photographers and farmers, the stories were as inspirational as they were moving, each one demonstrating kindness, community spirit and ingenuity in the face of adversity.

More than 40,000 online votes later, it was time to annouce the winners.

And the Supper Collective won the Daily Telegraph Best Community Project Award!

The team released a message via their Facebook page, thanking everyone for their continual support.

Here's a snippet:

"Over 1,200 meals a week are delivered by volunteers to the vulnerable, homeless and the NHS front line staff. From the great people skills of the back room volunteers, the cheery cycle volunteers and Andy of 659 Taxi Services that get the food out to the people that need it, and of course to the talented restaurants, cafes and bakeries that produce high numbers of top quality, tasty, nutritious food week in, week out. And none of this would be possible without your support."

"I haven't had to ask anyone for help. EVERYONE has contacted me privately and genuinely to help the cause. Thank you, what a great city we live in."

Congratulations to the Supper Collective on their tremendous achievement and thank you for all the hardwork you and your volunteers continue to provide during these challenging times.

Lend your support and make sure to follow the Supper Collective on Facebook
