UnShut Festival 2020

posted 29 Jun 2020

The theatres may not be opening just yet, but that doesn’t mean that there’s a lack of events to keep yourselves entertained.

Taking place 2nd - 4th July, UnShut Festival of Performance brings experimental and radical performance work, working with live artists to explore the world we’re living in, and the ways that we connect, socialise and interact.

The Festival is committed to creating a space that allows creativity to flourish, to opening doors to artists from all backgrounds, and to unlocking the creative potential of all who consider themselves ‘experimental’ or ‘radical’ in their performance work.

Taking place over 3 days, the online celebration of experimental work will have 12 performances. Work will include building a theatre from scratch, a world-wide street clean, a revolution by postcard and an intimate performance in Animal Crossing.

Bringing durational performance, intimate one-to-one performances on Zoom, audio performance, a series of family-friendly tiny installations hidden across Sheffield City centre a special online Q and A where you can join the artists in discussion, UnShut offers connection, creativity and community at such a challenge time for artists and audiences.
