A new cultural strategy for York has been unveiled, aimed at unlocking the benefits of the arts for all local people, whatever their background or experience. After asking residents what they want from culture in the city, the strategy sets our six priorities for the next five years. These include the development and retention of creative talent, inclusivity and the role of young people. The strategy sets out to transform York into a city well-known as a place where outstanding heritage comes together with a contemporary approach to creativity.
The strategy was put together by York’s Future Leaders Group, a cohort of about 30 organisations, venues and heritage bodies, led by Make it York. You can find more information and download the full strategy from the Make it York website.
